Panasonic TC-P42UT50 Just got my 42″ UT50 after researching TVs for a long while. This TV lives up to all the good things I’ve heard about it. My advice is to turn off 24p playback on your bluray player to avoid a headache inducing flicker and the home camcorder soap opera look that a lot of TVs have these days. Once this issue was fixed, the picture is great, and the movement looks right. For the price you can’t get a better TV. Head over to avsforums to get the right color settings to make things even better.

Panasonic TC-L42E5 Replaced a Sony WEGA 42″ LCD, had to lose the surround sound, and one dvd recorder due to hdmi connections only 4. Only bought a sound bar and hdmi cables so far. TV is great hooked satalite, blu-ray, media player with ease. Might have to lift tv thou as other reviews state for the tv remote to work if placed in front of tv, but no big deal. Base seams super stabble but I still have some wobble??? USB X 2 connections (sd card slots are also super to have my fav photos handy) are great have my fav music albums on this for easy accses. My tv sounds great I adjusted a few settings but need to have on 50 cant hear well with ac on, but I can’t hear well anyway. Overall great buy, price is nice too even thou I want to get soundbar anyway, shipping was fast too. :>}

Review of TCL42E5 42-Inches 1080p LED-LCD TV
Really great tv. Perfect size for my office/studio. Picture quality is excellent. I calibrated the tv using settings I found with a quick google search. Sound is ok, but as with most flat screens it lacks a really impressive on board audio set up. Xbox 360 games look incredible. I’ve been playing Skyrim and Battlefield 3 and am blown away by the picture. I fired up amazon prime (through Viera Cast) and watched Troll Hunter in HD. Again, beautiful picture (and awesome low budget Norweigian movie).
And now a more niche consideration. I am an illustrator by trade and use a Wacom tablet and photoshop in my day to day work. I purchased this tv with the intention of utilizing it as a third, large scale monitor for certain projects. A big reason I went for this particular tv is the LED screen. I find it is much easier on my eyes when I am painting on screen for hours on end.
So there you have it. Beautiful image quality, a decent service lineup (Netflix, Prime, etc.), customization, great aesthetics, light weight, and it won’t make your eyes bleed when you are painting an event poster at 2 in the morning.
And yes, it says wi-fi ready but it needs an adapter. Otherwise it would say built in wi-fi. so the option is either buy a tv with built in (an extra $200-$2000) or buy an adapter ($60.. I agree it’s a rip off. I ran a wire.). Same reason the E3 model had only 4 stars, from what I read in the reviews. So if you can get past that, this is a really excellent buy.

Nikon 70 200 f 2.8G I am like many of you, read read and read review, check youtube review. My choice are, go for a cheaper Sigma ($1400) of go for broke for this Nikon lens. All the reviews said the Nikon glass is world class, a bit sharper than Sigma, etc. My friends told me, good lens last for a long time and I like the fact the Nikon has dust and moisture seal. I have the Nikon 18-200mm f3.5 to f5.6, at 200mm, I can’t get a lots of light. I like to shoot sport, and living in Hawaii, I shoot a lot of surfing photo. Let me tell you, this lens is super sharp, the image that I capture is stunning, I went back to compare the photo that I took with my $900 18-200 f3.5 to f5.6 lens, I can tell the difference right the way. The f2.8 and the glass really opens up a whole new world for me. If you thinking about getting this lens, GO FOR IT !!! You will love it. I posted a few sample image that I took with this news lens. Regarding the weight, you know what you are getting into, so, don’t complain. Don’t buy a Porsche and expect to put regular unleaded gas. Bottom line, you only live once, get it and you will be very happy with this lens.

Galaxy Note Price My previous phone was the iPhone 3G. i wanted something with a bigger screen and faster. i was disappointed that the iPhone 4S did not have 4G speed and a larger screen. Rather than wait i decided to purchase the Samsung Galaxy Note. I love the screen size and the speed. it has a nice camera and camcorder. The Android and Apple’s IOS are very different, but Android is easy to learn. The ONLY thing I miss is iTunes. Some of my videos did not transfer, but I’m sure I can find an app for that. Also, with earphones(which didn’t come with the Note) the sound is 5.1. Because the screen is bigger the keyboard is easier to use. Battery life is short, but I just recharge each night. I don’t know how durable it is as I have never dropped it or any of my phones.
